Tourism

With over 73,000 annual visitors and more than €200 million recently invested in the hotel industry, the sector is undergoing a transformation. Its potential lies in an exceptional natural heritage dominated by Karthala, one of Africa's largest active volcanoes. The Indian Ocean Island Games and the national hotel development program (aiming for 4,000 beds) are further boosting this momentum.

Infrastructure and Construction

Over €135 million in public investment will be injected into roads, energy, and essential services by 2025. The new El-Maarouf University Hospital and the modernization of the port of Moroni are among the key projects.

Energy

With 41 MW of installed capacity and increasing access to electricity, the Comoros is accelerating its energy transition. The solar power plants in Pomoni, Foumbouni, and Mitsamiouli exemplify this trend. The new renewable energy code paves the way for private investment.

Digital and financial services

The 2Africa submarine cable and 99% mobile coverage are paving the way for the growth of the digital economy. Digital banking and mobile money solutions are accelerating financial inclusion. The "Moroni Financial Smart City" project includes the creation of an investment fund and innovative financial instruments.

An import market that needs structuring

With €340 million in annual imports, the country also offers immediate commercial opportunities: • agri-food products (38% of imports) • refined petroleum products (27%) • construction materials • vehicles and spare parts Foreign investors can thus combine import substitution with export-oriented local production.

A competitive legal and tax framework

The new Investment Code provides for: • exemption from customs duties on equipment • reduced corporate tax rate of 15% • deduction of invested amounts • risk coverage through MIGA (Investment Guarantee Fund) The environment is secured by OHADA law and internationally recognized arbitration mechanisms.
